Music DirectorJanis holds a Master of Arts degree in Arts Management from The University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Kent State University. In addition to her responsibilities of the Ravenna Community Choir, she directs the St. Paul Lutheran Chancel Choir also in Ravenna. Janis is retired from Weathervane Playhouse in Akron Ohio where she worked as the Director of Marketing, Development and, later, Advancement. She served the Playhouse as Interim Executive Director three times during her tenure. She received Weathervane's Trustee Award in 2003 and again in 2007. Janis enjoyed several turns as musical director for such shows as Annie and Stephen Sondheim's Company. She has also served as musical director for The University of Akron and Actors Summit. She and husband Ray live in Kent. They have two children and four wonderful grandchildren. |
